How to Make Garlic Confit and Homemade Garlic Oil. This simple and gourmet kitchen staple will take your meals to the next level!
Growing up in a European household, I was introduced to so many different taste palettes. One day we would be eating sweetened cauliflower, and the other, we would be spreading roasted garlic bulbs over toasted rye bread. Since I have wanted to dive deeper into my heritage, I decided why not try my grandmother’s delicious garlic bread recipe but with a bit of a twist. Instead of rubbing the garlic onto the bread, we’ll spread it as a confit.

What Is Garlic Confit?
Garlic confit is one of my favorite things to make since this recipe is incredibly easy to make. It calls for just two ingredients that you most likely have in your pantry already and very little effort. Fresh, Raw Garlic and Olive Oil. You can substitute any other type of oil, like vegetable, avocado, or even sunflower oil.
Similar to roasted garlic, the cloves become incredibly sweet, soft, and remarkably flavorsome. They take less time, are far less messy, and can be stored in the fridge (in the oil) for several weeks at a time.
How Can You Use Garlic Confit?
There are endless possibilities as far as using garlic confit. Since you are roasting the garlic, it becomes soft and buttery. You can spread them on toast for a mild acidic taste or add them to dips and side dishes for extra flavor. If you find yourself craving a pizza, you can sprinkle the garlic on top of some homemade pizza or use the garlic-infused oil as a base for the pizza. You can also infuse the oil with herbs such as thyme or rosemary if you so desire!
