Do you ever get annoyed with carrying a carton of plant milk home from the store, only to later find out you’ve used nearly all of it just for cereal or oatmeal? One little pet peeve of mine is when Nick would pour about a quarter of the plant milk carton into his bowl for cereal just for me to have to go back to the store and buy more for recipes or just coffee. I had to find an alternative to this, especially during this pandemic where I don’t want to be around several people.
In comes a recipe for homemade oat milk!
Making your own oat-milk saves not only so much packaging and money but is also so quick and a lifesaver when you run out of plant milk. So why not make your own with this simple recipe!
What you’ll need:
🌾 1 cup of rolled oats
💦 6 cups of water
🍁 2 tablespoons maple syrup
✨ The teeniest pinch of salt
Let’s get started:
✔️ Pour oats into a blender.
✔️ Add maple syrup, salt, and water.
✔️ Blend for 30 seconds and pour the mixture over a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher
To get the best flavor, we recommend sieving the mixture 3-4 times to get most, if not all, of the oats. Whatever you do, DO NOT squeeze the oats as this will make the liquid slimy. Chill your oat milk for at least 30 minutes before serving, and enjoy!

I love the video! Always so fun to just watch how something is made. There is something so calming about watching recipe videos!
