How to live more minimalist

November 22, 2019

I've been dabbling in the beauty and wonder of a minimalist lifestyle and couldn't think of any other way I'd want to live my life! I fancy more often than others the life of isolation from society and downsizing in my personal life is the way I cope with having to live in a city instead of the forest lol. So here are my three ways I create a simple and minimalist lifestyle while living in a big city.

Where you live, and how big you live, determines simplistically your way of life.

My motto has always been "if you want to live small, truly live small" meaning, rent a small apartment for starts. So many factors are at play with this one! One of the reasons and probably the biggest reason I did it, is that if you have a small footage of living space you simply cannot own many things, so this way you wont have clutter and you won't be tempted to buy new things. Genius!

Surround yourself with meaningful possessions.

In our society the big thing I have, and so many others have struggled with is that we never have "enough". We've been told countless times that we don't want FOMO so we should be on top of the newest trends but also know what's next. Frankly, I'm tired of searching for the newest trend that will fade away in six months to which I have spent my hardworking income on, just to donate in the next season. Exhausted. Done. Won't do it again, sorry.

Cut out the unnecessary fashion trends from your closet.

Recently, I went overseas for nearly a month and realized that we as Americans can dress up our outfit too much. Now don't get me wrong, I really liked the environment where I was dressing chic in Paris but also liked the feeling of simplicity in the French fashion. Nothing gaudy or loud was needed. Neutral colors and accent pops played nicely with every Parisian strolling the streets. With this realization I came to believe that's really all you need, neutral colors with a nice pop. Be mindful of how many pieces of clothing that look almost identical, you simply don't need five cream sweaters that have something "slightly" different from one another.

Welp! That's my two cents, what do you guys think? Leave your comments below and I'll get back to you! 😘

xoxo Ashley
