Pink Himalayan Salt & Grapefruit Soap

October 15, 2018

Hi everyone! Happy Monday! I have another fun DIY for you guys that I actually made for my mom as a gift for her birthday. This easy 3-ingredient DIY melt and pour soap is made with skin nourishing shea butter and exfoliating Himalayan salt.

It's always hard to find something for my mom as a gift (she can picky!), but I know she loooves anything pink, shiny, and something useful. So I figured a homemade soap infused with pink crystals would be perfect! The best part, it only cost me $40! I just love finding budget friendly gift ideas ya'll!

I've linked all the ingredients I've used for this project for your guys' convenience, including the silicon mold I used - its great because the soap just pops on out! Also, in order to ensure you get the best results for your soap, I highly recommend working really fast to pour the soap into the mold right after stirring in the Himalayan salt. Or you can also add the Himalayan salt to your mold first, then pour the soap into it and sprinkle more Himalayan salt on top. This will ensure the soap will have Himalayan salt on the top and bottom to provide a natural exfoliate. And don't forget, have fun with it! 😊

In the microwave, melt the soap base, stirring every 30 seconds. Or if you have one, melt the soap in a double boiler. Remove soap from heat and stir in grapefruit essential oil. Add the pink Himalayan salt to melted soap and immediately pour into molds. Allow soap to harden for at least 2 hours before removing from soap mold.

If you enjoyed this, look out for more DIY bath and body projects, perhaps a peppermint sugar scrub?!
The holidays are approaching fast, and with so many budget friendly ideas out there,
stay tuned to see what we come up with!
xoxo Ashley
